Exactly, and I don't know if it's mentioned in the link but apparently during the mid term elections a couple of states lost to the Democrats because too many non- mask wearing, non vaccinated Republicans died of Covid, but if they had done so, they would have won.
So not only is it the Darwin effect but also the shoot yourself in the foot effect. :D
