Marriage

How long have you been married, or
How long were you married?
I was married for 38 years, and still would be
If she hadn't passed away. ( And no, it wasn't suicide to get away from me)
My parents were married for over 70 years.
Nowadays they don't seem to last so long .

We've been married 43 years, but dated on and off for 9 years before that. Where the time has gone I really don't know.

I first got married in June 1964 and yes time does fly. My parents didn't have a particularly long marriage like yours, because sadly cancer shortened both of their lives.

Any more details than that will spawn multiple threads elsewhere Vino, usually highly derogatory ones, so it' s best to keep facts to the bare minimum.

I think parents from an older generation did take their marriage vows seriously, although, 'through better or worse' sometimes meant 'worse' for a lot of people. ;)

We have 50 done today :thumbs up: We drove down through France to near Girona on a camping trip for our honeymoon. Yes and Franco was still in power and as I recall finding the road to actually cross the border into Spain at Bourg Madame was a bit difficult to find. What changes since. All countries are so different now.

Thanks Wendy and well done yourself xx A woman whose husband died lived near my late mother and when my mother asked her would she ever think of marrying again she said "no, one cross in life is enough" :D :D
