Easyjet
Log in to see the status of my flight to the UK next Monday. It has been cancelled (well 1 half of it has), with a notice to say you can change flights or get a refund through the Manage Your Disruption button.
Well one can change the flights if one wants to, no problem, but there is nowhere to claim a refund. After being led on a bit of a merry dance around their website, one is told to contact their Customer Service Team. Only problem there, is that there are no contact details. You have to Google to get these details.
So for those who want to contact Easyjet
Email: [email protected]
Phone: 0330 365 5000 (0044 330 365 5000)
Would recommend if phoning using 0044
Did phone them, buts its a waste of time, you'll get a message about how busy they are, and that you should have an Email (still waiting for it).
Good luck

Re: Easyjet
My flight with Ryanair is scheduled for the 21st April.
So far , I've only received an e.mail from them, offering a chance to reschedule.
Yesterday, I read that their flights or April and May are cancelled .
Trying to make sense of their website at the moment, is very frustrating, to say the least .

Re: Easyjet
Extract from Michael O’Leary message on his website
"Any passenger whose flight has been cancelled as a result of these Government shutdowns, will over the next week or two, receive an email outlining their options. At the same time as we are dealing with unprecedented numbers of flight bans, we have had to reduce office staff by 50% for social distancing reasons and we ask customers to be patient and bear with us; you will receive email communications in due course. Please do not call our phonelines as the reduced staffing will be unable to accommodate anything but the most urgent of cases, which over the coming days, will be rescue flights.
At this time, no one knows how long this Covid shutdown will last. The experience in China suggests a 3-month period for the spread of the virus to be contained and reduced. We do not expect to operate flights during the months of April and May at this time, but this will clearly depend upon Government advice, and we will in all cases comply with these instructions."
Seems to say that you've got to sit and wait for an Email in the next 2 weeks, and that he's not expecting to operate flights in April or May

Re: Easyjet
Thanks for that Lincoln45.
Yes - I'll just have to wait.
But, it looks like I'll be staying here a while longer now .

Re: Easyjet
Just received my email from Easyjet and there is no mention of a refund
What happens now?
If you still wish to travel to your destination you can:
Transfer your flight free of charge by going to manage bookings or visiting the easyJet app.
If you didn’t book your flights through either easyJet.com or our easyJet Mobile App then please contact us.
If you do not wish to travel:
If you no longer wish to travel, you can choose to switch to any other easyJet flight through Manage Bookings
It looks like they have an obstructionist stance to paying refunds!

Re: Easyjet
Well I was due to fly to Stansted on 14 April and Ryanair sent me an email saying my flight was cancelled and offered a refund which I accepted.
My three daughters are booked to fly out from Bournemouth on 18 May with them and although you can' t book any flights in April because all the dates are greyed out, you can still book flights in May. In fact I could have booked a seat on the same flight as my daughters.
So if Ryanair are saying no flights in May, how come you can still book a seat on one !!!

Re: Easyjet
Glad you are getting a refund. Suspect he's waiting to see how long the lockdowns in each country are going to last. Then if a couple of lockdowns get lifted, he'll fly between them. That's my guess.
Easyjet have cancelled the return part of my trip, no mention of the refund except to ring them, which is a waste of time.
I've been led to believe that BA have removed the refund request from their website.

Re: Easyjet
A lot of people would prefer a refund rather than a change of flight date. I was going over to the UK for a specific reason so a change of date was out of the question.
My understanding of your rights are that if your flight is cancelled, for whatever reason, your are entitled to an alternative flight or a refund.
This was Ryanairs email to me which bears out what I mentioned above..
Dear Customer,
We sincerely regret to advise you that due to the impact of COVID-19, Ryanair has been forced to cancel your flight FR8383 from Alicante to London (Stansted) on 14Apr20. Please advise any other customers who may be travelling in your party.
We are notifying customers today to inform you that you can choose between a full refund of the cost of your ticket, or the option of re-routing as well as reasonable care (as detailed below).

Re: Easyjet
Under EU ruling, you should have received the refund of the cost of your ticket within seven days of the cancellation.
Well this is not going to happen with Easyjet. Have phoned, can't get through, No replies to emails.
They are making it very difficult to get a refund. They should be hit with a whacking big fine and the money shared out amongst those who had a flight cancelled, plus the refund.
