Police Controls Intensify In Torrevieja
Police Controls Intensify In Torrevieja
From yesterday until Sunday, Policia Local will double the number of controls at all entrances to Torrevieja. Guardia Civil will also be intensify their surveillance in the area.
Particular concern is people travelling to their second homes in Torrevieja from outside of the area for a long weekend due to tomorrow being Labour Day.
Excellent weather is also predicted for this weekend, but parks, beaches and gardens still remain closed under the restrictions of the State of Alarm.

This is a good thing..too early to let the pressure off.
No doubt about it...give the populace a centimetre and they will take a kilometre.
Things may look better end of May....

Generally seems quieter today, although appears to be more traffic than in recent days using the AP-7 motorway and delivery courier firms are continuing to make household deliveries despite it being a public holiday.

This article says the Policia Local in Alicante stopped 2000 vehicles from entering and almost 2300 people. Mostly from Madrid, Galicia and Petrer.

From what I can see no figures have been formally published by the local Policia Local forces, but I was told this morning that police had stopped around 150 cars from Madrid entering the Orihuela Costa yesterday.Bee wrote: 02 May 2020 20:42 This article says the Policia Local in Alicante stopped 2000 vehicles from entering and almost 2300 people. They live in Spain. They know travel is restricted and they can't travel outside their own areas so why do they think they will be allowed to travel to other areas. They must just fancy a long drive for the fun of it. Very odd.

I really do wonder about the people in Madrid, the worst affected area in the country yet seem to show a total lack of self-discipline under the current restrictions.
In Madrid during the week they held a closing down ceremony for the field hospital they set up in IFEMA to cope with the virus, needless to say social distancing was not observed and people where hugging and shaking hands. This ceremony is now subject to investigation.
