Hello All,
after 18 years with Bankia I have discovered for the first time that I am being charged nearly €110 for the year to date and for "Not a lot" to say the least. It appears that this is the first time this has happened. This account has been very lightly used for quite a while. I will be closing the account but wondered if forum members could recommend banks that they are happy with charges? if any. Are there any banks that offer free banking?
Thank you in Advance
Stay Safe everyone

Re: Banks
Good luck with closing it. I have been trying to close an account with Santander to no avail. The customer service appears to be non-existent compared to Banco Popular. I have been passed from one office to another. I have sent documents by post and to an email address I was given but nada in response. I keep ringing the branch where the account is but no answer. I was told the offices only open on a rotating basis. Meanwhile the cuenta123 keeps deducting charges for nought as there are no transactions going through the account. Oh and I was told I would have to go in person to close the account! I said that would be a bit difficult as I live in Ireland and there are no flights. So if anyone has contact details for a human in Banco Santander in Calle Chapaprieta they might pass it on. The email for the branch is [email protected] it might come in useful for somebody else. Only problem is they don't appear to read the emails.
