Google Chrome - Logging In Problems ?

#1

Post: # 927Post Carl »

A couple of members this morning have experienced problems logging in using Google Chrome.

This issue is not affecting all members using the Google Chrome browser which would suggest that this is a local issue to the device the member uses to access the forum from, and specifically the cookies contained on these devices. This is a consequence of the cookie settings being reset yesterday following the server being down and these members device's containing an old cookie for the forum.

I would ask those Google Chrome members experiencing problems to take undertake the following actions:-

1. At the bottom of the forum you will see "Delete Cookies" please click on this link and then click "Yes".

2. Clear your Cookies in Google Chrome.
  • 1. In the upper-right corner of your browser, click the Chrome button
  • 2. Click "More tools"
  • 3. Click "Clear browsing data"
  • 4. Ensure "Cookies and other site data" box is checked
  • 5. Click "Clear data"
This should resolve the issue. Any problems please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you, I had that problem as you know.
As I said I use Internet Explorer to log in now and it now works fine.
I find that if as suggested you delete cookies amd clear data in Chrome you will lose all log in details and passwords that you have stored.
I think Google Chrome is getting too big for it`s boots. .. I use Windows Live Mail and up until a little ago it would check my Gmail address but Chrome decided that it was a 3rd party application and was considered a risk. I got it working in the end but only by some complicated tweaking from the Microsoft website.

That is a possibility and it depends whether an individual has the box checked against "Passwords and other sign-in date" under "Advanced" settings in "Clear browsing data".

Windows Live Mail is outdated now and cannot be downloaded the same with Internet Explorer they are vulnerable to hackers as well you should look for a newer alternative

What do you suggest then Fred. Something that`s compatable with Chrome. I like the layout of WLM.

So did I but it's time was up I use Edge and Chrome and Opera. Edge is the fastest browser also has a translator if you enable it same as Chrome
For email, I have changed over to Gmail and Thunderbird
