A manservant works for his master tirelessly for thirty years. He is loyal and a good man to his master. After those thirty years, his master falls ill and is certain that he will not recover.
With his faithful manservant at his side, he admits that he has extraordinary powers and would like to grant his servant one wish before he passes away as a thank you for his service. The manservant is very thankful, but cannot decide on the spot so his master
gives him one day to decide on what he would like to wish.
He goes home and speaks to his wife about it, who then is overjoyed at the possibility. "Wish for a son! We have been childless for too many years! Now is our chance!" The manservant considers this.
Then, he goes and speaks with his mother, who is blind. She is also overjoyed and says, "Please, son! Ask for
my sight back so that I may see the world again!" The manservant also considers this.
Then, he speaks with his father, who has been awfully poor his whole life and is now too old to make any sort of living. "Please, son! Ask for the riches our family has always had to live without!" The manservant considers this as well and is torn.
What will he end up choosing ? Is there an option that allows him to make everyone happy ?
Answer will be provided next Thursday evening after 21:00.
