A man sat alone in the comfort of his home in front of his fireplace. It was a very cold, winter evening, and snow covered his entire backyard. As he sat and relaxed, he was suddenly disturbed by a snowball that came crashing through his window.
Understandably angry that he was now exposed to the cold, he ran up to the window and saw three of the
neighbourhood boys in his backyard. They were all laughing and running away as they joked around with each other. The man was able to identify the boys as three brothers by the names Jack Smith, Mark Smith, and Tom Smith.
As they were already running away and he did not feel like chasing them, the man closed up the broken window and went to bed.
The very next morning, he went out to retrieve his newspaper and found a paper note stuck to his door. It said, " ? Smith. He threw the snowball and broke your window."
The man instantly knew from the note which brother it was that broke his window. How did he know ?
Answer will be provided next Thursday evening after 21:00.
