Innocent until proven guilty...that is the British way, Graham
Now, in today's Mail on Sunday, it is revealed that German and British police have identified Brueckners mobile phone was near to the apartment on the fateful day.
A call was received that lasted nearly half an hour...about an hour before the alleged abduction.
Now I ask you...if Maddie suffered some kind of accident, and was in the presence of, or discovered by her parents, in some bloody state, would they, two doctors, decide " right, the best thing to do is clean up, hide the body, and call the police to say she has been abducted!"
Consider this instead,... a paedophile burglar, enters the unlocked apartment, is disturbed by Maddie, strikes her down with a blunt instrument and then has to think fast, because it's all gone wrong...
Stuff her body in a closet. Go to the kitchen sink get some bleach or cleaning product.Wipe up the blood from the tiles, get Maddies body from the closet, wrap her in your coat, wipe round the closet and then get out with the body ,...fast.
The burglary did not go as planned, but little trace left at the scene....Dispose of the body later.
OK, so sniffer dogs may later alert to the floor area and the closet, and yes some blood may have seeped through the the tile grout, but on the whole, no body, no missing valuables, no signs of forced entry..
No witnesse, and the other kids on Calpol slept through......should get away with it...maybe they will blame the parents!
What do you think, GK...took me thirteen minutes, not thirteen years to come up with that scenario.
OK doesn't explain the hire car alert...but maybe the dog got that wrong, or perhaps somebody using the car, had bought a chicken for dinner and put it in the boot?
